I have a crush on Modern Domestic Sewing Studio. Oh how I wish I lived close to this lovely and inspiring space. Situated in NorthEast Portland, the studio offers sewing classes for all skill levels plus felting and silk screen instruction. Check out their latest class schedule if you’re planning to be in the area soon. FYI, they’re also an authorized Bernina and Janome sales location.
Local author Susan Beal will be at Modern Domestic on 4/2 from 5-6pm signing copies of her book, Modern Log Cabin Quilting.
We should probably just stay in Portland another week, right? I’ll go tell Mr. PeepThread right now.
Thank you to the ladies at Modern Domestic for letting us explore the studio. And a special thank you to Meredith for playing with Stella and her panda bear

Thank you for this wonderful photo tour of our little sewing studio! It is so lovely seen through someone else’s eyes/lens. Glad you had a chance to spend a bit of time with us, next time, be sure you take a class!
Lupine, my pleasure! I really enjoyed seeing Modern Domestic in person. It is such a welcoming space and everybody was v. friendly and helpful. My next trip will have to be scheduled around a class or two for sure.
Really interesting stuff. I love the crooked lamb face.
Susan, are you in Portland? Come learn how to make one of these with me at Modern Domestic! http://moderndomestic.enstore.com/item/stuffed-companions-kata-golda-saturday-april-9th-230pm

Love and miss you too, Ashcal!
Your photos are great — I especially love the one of the felt finger puppet. I’ll have to add it to my collection! http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=155062&id=133479319593
