Be My Dino

by Kate on February 7, 2012

I am trying to come up with unique valentines for Stella’s preschool class – something that both the ladies and gentlemen will enjoy. Everybody likes plastic dinos, right? I bought a bagful on Amazon and went to work.

I punched out some bright hearts and used my opaque Souffle markers to write messages on the back of each.

I glued the wee dinos to the front of the hearts by applying the hot glue to their feet with toothpicks. So barbaric!

“Ouch, ouch, ouch! Ok! I’ll tell you where the treasure is hidden!”

I added some dots while I waited for my dinos to dry.

Voila! I hope the tiny maniacs like them :-)

If they don’t then they crazy! These dinos rule! I especially love purple bump head. He looks so happy and sweet like he only eats leaves. And the occasional pre-schooler. :-)

Thanks man! I have a crush on them too. Purple guy is quite the little gentleman.

I hate you. You’re making the rest of us look bad…I hope you have another amazing idea for which I can take credit.

OMG Kate- This is so perfect for my daycare valentines. I needed something fun yet easy. Thanks for the inspiration!

Yay Lynee! I’d love to see how yours turn out.

So my free hand hearts just won’t do, can I pick up a “heart punch” at Michael’s for a couple bucks ? Love these!

Thanks E! Yep, you can grab one at Michael’s or buy them online. My giant one was $19 but it’s entirely possible I overpaid (I have a theory about the stuff that is eligible for Amazon Prime being marked up). Does anybody else have the same theory?

These are fantastic! I was looking at some old Valentine’s at an antiques store and I love the puns.

Oh yah, major puns happening in the ’40s and ’50s. Some really swell vintage valentines out there.
