I threw this little nugget together in about 45 minutes. I was inspired by the Dish Mat tutorial over at Fly Through Our Window. This is a great project for a beginning sewist or anybody who likes instant gratification (me). The back of the mat is an old purple towel that had paint on it. The bird fabric is Etsuko Furuya (Put a bird on it!). I think I got the other two fabrics from the fat quarter boxes at Pea Pod.
Anna over at Noodlehead made a couple of nice mats from the same tutorial. Hers are much more civilized than mine.
