Common Thread

by Kate on August 1, 2011

I love to visit new fabric stores when I travel. There’s always some local flavor represented in the smaller fabric shops, and Common Thread was no exception. GuppyAl and I tracked down this spicy little goldmine on a shopping excursion in Taos. Actually it went something like this: we were looking at Dia de Los Muertos statues, thinking about eating chocolate, glanced up and there it was. Well to be honest, we’re always thinking about chocolate. True story.

The shop is beautifully merchandised in a full spectrum of colors. I was very drawn to the deep shades of lapis and the fiery oranges. I could have gone cray-cray in that place. Though I think I became too overwhelmed because I didn’t buy a thing. I’m sort of regretting that now! Take your shopping buns to Common Thread if you pass through the Taos area. I promise you will love it so mucho.

Excuse me. When you say you didn’t buy anything what you actually meant was “I don’t want to say anything but obviously I got Courtney that spikey Virgin Mary statue.” I mean OBVIOUSLY. Right? Right. :-)

Right? I could have bought up everything in that shop. I had to leave.
