World’s Tiniest Project

by Kate on July 8, 2011

“Oh sure, these hair bands are soooo tiny. No sweat. I’ll just make them in 5 minutes, dust my hands off and kiss my biceps.” That was me before I started making them according to Aranzi Aronzo’s pattern. Sewing and embroidering bitsy creatures is harder than it looks. Each one of their heads is smaller than a quarter and I had to use tweezers to place and glue the bear face and eyes. My embroidery needle was too large and the french knot for the nose & eyes kept popping through the back of the felt. Oy! Now you understand why my bunny looks deranged and mister bear has a rough eye. Felt is not so forgiving after you’ve stabbed it in the same spot 10 times. All of that said, I’m still loving them. I just need more practice. Plus there are squirrel and panda versions that I MUST make. It is imperative.

They also make cute finger puppets.
